Applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (On Demand) | 3.5 CE Credits | $50

This training program is designed to help clinicians enhance their ability to apply an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach in their work with individual therapy clients. Participants will review the core concepts of ACT and learn about ways to take these skills from initial conceptualization to clinical implementation.  All levels of experience are welcome and no prior experience with ACT is needed to complete the program; The training is tailored to meet the needs of mental health professionals from novice/beginner to intermediate level understanding of ACT.

Objectives:
  1. Develop familiarity with Relational Frame Theory and how it informs ACT
  2. Deepen understanding of ACT psychological flexibility model and the 6 core processes of change
  3. Improve ability to assess for psychological inflexibility processes and patterns within clients
  4. Learn strategies to target, model and support the core processes of change 
  5. Increase understanding of the interplay between flexibility processes to help inform conceptualization and treatment planning
  6. Practice applying assessment, conceptualization, and intervention skills using case examples

Emily Kidd is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the Clinical Director at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL.  Using a collaborative and client centered approach, Emily works with clients to develop the skills needed to navigate life’s experiences and lead more authentic and fulfilling lives. Her clinical experience and interests include working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, identity development and relational concerns. Emily specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and offers ACT-focused trainings and consultation. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Chicago Campus).

Frannie Siegel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Clinical Development Supervisor at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. Using a strengths based and client centered approach, Frannie works with clients to empower them to challenge their perspectives and work towards finding meaningful purpose in their lives. Her clinical experience and interests include working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, comorbid conditions, executive functioning building and self esteem concerns. Frannie specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and offers ACT-focused training and consultation.

Participants can earn 3.5 CE credit for completion of this On Demand course.
