This interactive training will be informative and application-based, so come ready to play in the sand! Participants will learn about the theory and neuroscience supporting sand tray therapy as an effective treatment modality for all ages. This training also provides plenty of hands-on learning through case examples, practice exercises and sand tray demonstrations. Spots are limited, so register today!
Training Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Learn and discuss the theory behind sand tray therapy, including neuroscience that supports sand tray and expressive therapies.
- Learn specific techniques to use when implementing sand tray therapy.
- Apply directive and non-directive play therapy techniques to sand tray interventions.
- Explore the use of sand tray techniques to promote the therapeutic relationship.
Presenters

Janine Snyder, MSW, LCSW
Janine Snyder, LCSW, is a Lead Clinical Director, supervisor, and psychotherapist for AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. She has had clinical experience working with children, youth, and families in a variety of settings for over ten years. Janine specializes in play-based therapies to support young people with managing anxiety, symptoms of ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorders, emotional dysregulation, OCD, and depressive symptoms. Janine has worked as a clinical supervisor to practicum students, pre- and post-licensure clinicians and has developed and presented trainings on clinical topics.

Jaclyn Clarke, M.Ed, LCPC
Jaclyn Clarke, LCPC, is a psychotherapist and Director of Child and Adolescent Services at AMK Counseling in Chicago, IL. Jaclyn has worked with children, adolescents, and parents in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings. She specializes in using a non-directive play therapy approach to support the emotional wellness of youth and families. In addition to her clinical work, Jaclyn has taught undergraduate students in social psychology at Arrupe College of Loyola University and has presented for organizations including the University of Illinois Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago. Jaclyn has experience creating and presenting clinical trainings and hands-on workshops on play-based topics for licensed clinicians.
AMK Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7277. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AMK Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
