9am - 12:15pm CST
Live Virtual Training via Zoom
Research shows that after experiencing their first symptoms, people often go 14–17 years before receiving an OCD diagnosis. This training introduces clinicians to OCD and related disorders to reduce misdiagnosis and better connect clients to effective, evidence-based treatment. Topics include diagnostic criteria, symptom presentation, clinical assessment, and an introduction to exposure-based treatment. Participants will also explore how to communicate treatment rationale and begin case conceptualization in a private practice setting.
Clinicians of all levels are welcome to attend this training. Introductory concepts will be addressed, so no prior experience with OCD or exposure-based therapy is needed. The integrative approach can be applied across settings, yet special attention will be given to individualized treatment in an outpatient setting.
Training Objectives:
- Understand obsessions, compulsions, and the anxiety feedback loop.
- Recognize manifestations of OCD and apply basic assessment strategies.
- Promote client insight and teach foundational coping tools.
- Introduce ERP strategies for use in outpatient clinical settings
